Mystery Mouse Cruising Review – Very Merrytime Cruise November 18 through 25, 2017 Part One

Over the coming days we’ll be reviewing our latest Very Merrytime Cruise on-board the beautiful Disney Fantasy. We took this cruise during the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the cruise could not have been more fun.

Let’s not waste any more time and get right to the details.

Day One – November 18th, 2017

We met the ship at Port Canaveral, Florida and the weather was perfect. We boarded the ship without delay and proceeded to Cabana’s for a bite to eat. The restaurant was busy but things move along quite nicely. You could tell everyone was excited to be there and get their cruise underway. After lunch we went to our stateroom to drop off our bags. There we met our room steward who was great and personable and a joy to be with the rest of the cruise. The service on-board this cruise was first rate during the whole trip.

After a brief rest we went up to Deck 11 to get ready for the Sailing Away deck party, one of my personal favorite events on-board. We left right on time and the deck party was a blast with all of the music and the world famous Disney characters. We stayed on deck until we left the inlet of Port Canaveral and entered the ocean. The next big event of the evening was going to be Mickey’s Tree Lighting.

Shortly before the tree lighting we went to stake our claim at the balcony overlooking the lobby atrium. This event is always really fun. I particularly enjoy how excited the little kids on the floor get during the festivities. Once the event started things happened pretty quickly, there were singers and dancers singing Christmas favorites. There was also a bunch of Disney characters which joined in the festivities. Mickey of course led the event and directed us all to look at the un-lit tree. After a dramatic countdown the tree came to life in beautiful light. It’s always fun to watch the tree lighting. Shortly after that we were dusted in snow… yes it was snowing in the atrium of the ship. Leave it to Disney to make it snow on a cruise ship, amazing.

After the tree lighting we were off to our late seating dinner. Here we met the wait staff that would be with us throughout the cruise. Disney’s rotational dining allows for your staff to go with you all week as you change restaurants. This is great since they already know what you like and you don’t have to worry about explaining your needs every night. Our crew was amazing. We would have liked to take them home with us.

After dinner we wrapped it up for the night since we had a long day and were looking forward to our sea day tomorrow.
